IVT EXPO: the preferred meeting place of powertrain system integrators and lithium battery manufacturers to discover the latest innovations in the industrial vehicle sector.
Technological evolution in electrification is a constantly shifting landscape, driven by a universal desire to create continuous innovation and make electric vehicles increasingly efficient and, at the same time, sustainable.
It is with this goal in mind that the main players in next-generation components, materials, services and technologies will come together at IVT Expo (Köln Messe – Germany) from 28 to 29 June 2023 to showcase the most recent developments in the field of industrial machines and vehicles.
The event, which will be held in Köln Messe, Germany, will also be an important opportunity for manufacturers to exchange information through a series of lectures and seminars analysing trends in the sector and the progress of different technologies for the design of next-generation electric vehicles.
IVT Expo is Europe’s leading component and powertrain trade fair in every respect, and for a lithium battery manufacturer like Flash Battery, it offers an important strategic opportunity: Köln Messe will be the nerve centre of European components, enabling us to strengthen international partnerships with powertrain system integrators with active experience in all European countries that represent the state-of-the-art in the field of electrification, such as Germany, France, Benelux and the Czech Republic.
FLASH BATTERY WILL BE WAITING FOR YOU AT BOOTH 2022
How important are partnerships in today’s dynamic electric market? While one of the main requirements of industrial OEMs and manufacturers transitioning towards electrification is to find an experienced lithium battery supplier that can best support them in a complex but much-needed technology shift, this is coupled with another pressing need: the search for a turnkey product.
It is precisely from here that the increasingly strategic importance of creating synergies between battery manufacturers and suppliers of the various powertrain components arises. This joint approach is capable of creating significant added value for all those OEMs and vehicle manufacturers which, in this way, can liaise with a single contact and access detailed consultancy that analyses all the vehicle requirements, and propose solutions tailored to the needs of the application, giving access to a finished, ready-to-use product.
A quality product is no longer enough in today’s industrial vehicle market: this must be supported by a clear business strategy, a lean industrial approach and experienced strategic partnerships that can create mutual value and strengthen the perception of the goods or services in the mind of clients.
Added to this is the search for technology and innovation, requirements that underlie the electrification of today’s industrial machines and vehicles. The aim of IVT Expo will be to create a direct communication channel between the various players in the electrification industry to facilitate the creation of top-class partnerships with a strong strategic impact.
Flash Battery, which over the years has already built up a strong network of international partnerships with highly experienced system integrators such as Atech GmbH in Germany and Austria, Q-Tronic in Benelux, and Efa France in France, and which is actively working on signing a new collaboration agreement in the Czech Republic with the joint aim of providing clients with efficient and comprehensive electrification solutions, will have the opportunity to take its industrial lithium batteries to an increasingly international level, combining its proprietary technology with the experience of more and more players in the powertrain segment.
Thanks to the synergies with various strategic partners, each Flash Battery product, designed according to an 8-step industrial process in which all the company areas work together to support the manufacturer in the choice of the most suitable electrification solution for its equipment, comes with active support and expert knowledge in all those countries that are moving at a fast pace towards electrification, involving an increasing number of industrial sectors, from construction to robotics, logistics, aerial work platforms, Ground Support Equipment, sailing, agriculture and more and more special machines.
Since 2012, Flash Battery has been offering its expertise in response to the changing and constantly growing industrial electrification market, and does so through cutting-edge research and development and an industrial approach that has been able, in more than 11 years of activity, to meet the electrification demands of increasing numbers of OEMs and manufacturers belonging to various sectors.
The subject of the electric switchover involves more and more areas of application in the field of industrial machines and vehicles, but there are three sectors in particular that today show a trend of continuous growth, which are:
IVT Expo will be tangible proof of this, with Material Handling, Construction and Ground Support Equipment carving out a leading role for themselves in electrification, developing increasingly challenging projects confirming the drive towards the electric switchover in a wide range of applications.
Due to the type and intensity of their everyday work, equipment such as cranes, mini-cranes, excavators, cement mixers or heavy duty side loaders, to name just a few, need significant autonomy and power. As a result, the lithium battery packs developed for these types of applications must focus on a very specific characteristic: high energy density. The focus is therefore on mechanical and electronic customisation, one of the main strengths of Flash Battery, designed to offer the highest possible energy density in a reduced volume, without compromising on the robustness required to deal with the continuous mechanical stress the vehicle is subjected to in its daily work, for example on site.
The goal is to achieve the perfect integration between vehicle and battery that not only allows the batteries to perform at their best, but also delivers added value in terms of performance, autonomy, zero maintenance costs for the entire machine as well as maximum safety. Indeed, for these sectors, the Flash Battery lithium battery packs are not only mechanically tailored to fit the available space, but are also integrated with ad-hoc connectors for the electrical requirements of the vehicle, such as, for example, the integration of multiple inputs and outputs, or special functions such as the pre-charge function and insulation monitoring.
Another critical aspect to bear in mind for the electrification of construction vehicles, heavy-duty material handling equipment or the various applications serving the Ground Support Equipment segment is compliance with stringent safety standards, which Flash Battery has always guaranteed by choosing to use a very specific chemistry, i.e. LFP chemistry, which most closely matches the needs of the industrial sector in terms of safety thanks to its high temperature of decomposition and slow release of heat. This combination avoids thermal runaway, thus ensuring a high level of safety, including under the most critical conditions.
But it’s not just a question of chemistry. The safety of industrial applications also comes from two other key factors, which only a manufacturer with experience and knowledge can provide: the correct assembly of the battery pack and the use of smart control electronics that can control and monitor the behaviour of the individual cells in real time, such as voltage and temperature, to allow timely action to be taken in the event of anomalies. This ensures safety and improves performance at the same time.
Last but not least is the optimisation of machine performance. OEMs and manufacturers in the Construction, Material Handling and GSE sectors are increasingly looking for battery systems that are able to bring added value in terms of optimising application use and improving the overall performance of the equipment.
This is where the Flash Battery proprietary remote control system comes in. Flash Data Center, is a true partner in the field of predictive maintenance which, since the first version was implemented in 2013, has been supporting manufacturers of industrial machines and vehicles, providing detailed information 24/7 and in real time on the functioning and methods of use of the batteries installed on their equipment all over the world. In its latest release, Flash Data Center takes advantage of the most recent artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to analyse all battery operating parameters (SOH, voltage, current, temperature, analysis of charging/discharging times, etc.) and makes it possible not only to know in advance how a battery is used and what stress it is put under, but also allows the effective life of the battery installed on the equipment to be estimated and the future behaviour to be predicted. Essential information to help correct and improve the performance of the machine itself, thus increasing productivity.
Partnerships, synergies, trends and increasingly customised requests: these aspects speak for themselves and confirm just how much the electric world is in a state of flux throughout Europe, ready for the switchover in most industrial sectors.
Together with its strategic powertrain partners, the Flash Battery sales team will be attending IVT Expo from 28 to 29 June at Stand 2022, ready to provide effective, comprehensive and customised responses to all electrification demands from the market.
