Just a few weeks from the official opening of the BAUMA trade show, the International fair for construction machinery, and machines and vehicles for the mining industry, the no longer vague idea that we have is that the trend in the near future will be the electrification.
As a leading manufacturer of lithium batteries for electric vehicles and industrial machinery, we are continuing to use our know-how and skills to respond to the needs and demands of today’s market.
Our leading position as a manufacturer of customized batteries for industrial machinery and vehicles, requires that we follow our clients during specific certification procedures for their applications.
And it is for this reason that we have chosen to request ECE R100 approval for two Flash Battery packs for category N1 electric vehicles.
ECE R100 Rev2 certification is one of the most important European requirements for the approval of road electric vehicles.
In fact, the regulation specifies all tests that must be carried out on lithium batteries installed on 4-wheel electric vehicles for transport of persons or goods of road vehicles of categories M and N with electric traction (Read the Specific Regulatory)
Flash Battery successfully completed the tests of the German Ministry KBA, and has been authorized to manufacture approved products.
In particular, two types of batteries for electric vehicles have been approved – 10kWh and 15kWh, tested and approved in compliance with Regulatory requirements.
Our efforts and commitment needed for this approval have enabled us to gain further experience in this extremely important sector – that of electric vehicles.
The goal that we have reached concerns the completion of the approval process for ECE R100 European standards with the German Ministry KBA (Kraftfahrt Bundesamt, German Transport Ministry)
The ECE R100 approval process involved a first test by KBA concerning the compliance of our quality and production systems, followed by the examination of the characteristics required for the manufacture of lithium batteries for electric vehicles.
After successfully completing the first phase, the second required safety testing to subject lithium batteries to the main stresses found during their use with vehicles:
These tests were also completed successfully, therefore validating the ECE -R100 Rev2 approval of the entire Flash Battery pack complete with BMS, electronics, cells and all safety systems required for its use.
The decision to apply for ISO9001 certification was taken in mid-2016, when the fast growth of the company was clear to see.
The creation of a QAS (Quality Assurance System) involves the definition of processes and a series of basic rules and regulations with which the company can grow, improve and develop.
The preparation of the documents regarding the system was really stimulating, and the materializing of what is really done gave many the possibility of understanding more in detail the importance of some processes, along with the opportunity of possible improvements.
The official issuing of the ISO9001:2015 compliance certification of the company by DNV (December 2017) was the first step in the process of improvement and growth, which involved, and will continue to involve, the company more and more with the completion of further certifications regarding products already under way.
After the first renewal of ISO compliance involving a year of application and more than two years from the decision to undertake this route, we are sure that 2019 will be the year of consolidation.
Analytically monitoring and controlling each and every fundamental parameter so that the company is ever more able to satisfy the needs and demands of clients, guaranteeing that the characteristics of products respond to the initial requirements of projects.
It is important to highlight that ISO 9001 certification guarantees that the methods used by companies respect the standards indicated by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the Organization for Standardization (ISO), but that the guarantee of quality of end products results from the continuous and constant commitment of the employees of the company.
