Flash Battery among the speakers at the second Battery Innovation Days conference
13-14 September 2022
The EGG, Brussel
The event, which this year was held in a hybrid format, in Brussels and online, promotes dialogue between the research community, policy makers, industry practitioners and end users to take stock of the status of the battery ecosystem in Europe and discuss the latest research and development. The aim of the Battery Innovation Days is to increase knowledge and encourage the exchange of information on the use of cutting-edge technologies in lithium-ion battery construction materials, cell design, design and manufacturing in a circular economy perspective to create a more sustainable value chain.
Last year, our CTO and Co-founder Alan Pastorelli participated in the first edition of the conference as part of the panel discussion “Aligning R&I with sustainable objectives”, part of a broader session entitled “A paramount to achieve decarbonisation objectives: The further development of sustainable batteries” with the aim of providing Flash Battery’s point of view on how to align research and innovation with the European Commission’s sustainability objectives, in view of the forthcoming Battery Regulation.
The focus of this second edition of Battery Innovation Days were the battery passport, the use of digital twins during lithium battery production, the implementation of advanced BMS (Battery Management Systems) in the automotive industry and the role of Europe in the development of collaborative research projects.
Among the speakers on the second day was Silvia Delbono, Project Administration & fundraising at Flash Battery, who took part in the panel discussion “From lab to market: EU success stories” on Tuesday 14 September, with the aim of bringing Flash Battery’s experience in developing a sustainable future in the segment of lithium batteries for electric vehicles and industrial machines.
The talk focused on Flash Battery’s commitment to Research & Development since its foundation in 2012, and addressed the fundamental role of Europe in supporting and sustaining the growth of a complete, self-sufficient and sustainable European value chain, capable of creating virtuous synergies and being a driver of growth and constant innovation.
We hope that Europe will increasingly be a theatre for the development and construction of high-tech cells and battery packs. At Flash Battery, we continue to put our skills at the service of the ecosystem by participating in collaborative research projects of great technological and innovative value, within consortia that bring together industrial players, research centres of excellence and teams from the most prestigious European universities.
