Marco Righi among the speakers at “New automotive energy systems – future opportunities and developments” conference
9 June 2022
Tecnopolo – Reggio Emilia
From 8 to 15 June 2022 the ecological transition, digitalisation, and sustainable mobility will be central themes at Research To Business, the 17th international exhibition dedicated to research and skills for innovation, promoted by Regione Emilia Romagna in collaboration with Bologna Fiere and ART-ER. Eight days of intense debate, workshops and conferences during which businesses, institutions, universities and research bodies involved in developing solutions designed to respond to increasingly complex global technological challenges, including Italy’s energy transition, will take the floor, discussing and anticipating new paths in terms of regional and national innovation.
And on Thursday 9 June, we will take part too, as our CEO and founder Marco Righi will be a guest at the Tecnopolo in Reggio Emilia, one of a panel of speakers during the session entitled “New automotive energy systems – future opportunities and developments”, set to run from 2 to 3pm. An interactive workshop focusing on the transition towards new energy systems, a pathway that is essentially confirmed and backed by a proposal from the European Commission that would put an end to the sale of endothermic vehicles by 2035.
A number of local businesses will offer their respective visions regarding the future of energy systems for mobility, highlighting the challenges and opportunities that will emerge as a result of the energy transition. The aim of the discussion is to share the development prospects of companies that make up the regional automotive system, examining the different types of vehicle and fields of use. The speakers will present their respective firm’s standpoint as to the new energy systems and the applications that best exploit their characteristics.
Flash Battery will participate in its role as a regional frontrunner in the lithium battery sector, a key industrial segment right now in terms of the country’s energy transition. Marco Righi will focus on analysing the opportunities for electric energy in the machinery and industrial vehicle segment, guided by increasing levels of research into sustainability, safety and efficiency.
“The industrial electric market is constantly evolving. In recent years, we’ve seen a growing number of industries willing to take the definitive step towards the electrification of vehicles, machines and processes. Up until five years ago, we would never have thought of producing an electric excavator or piece of agricultural machinery, but today – alongside the vast logistics sector – we have various electric prototypes in the construction and agricultural sectors, to name but two. We are focused on developing new lithium battery prototypes for increasingly large electric vehicles and motors, combining high-level performance with a reduction in the environmental impact of powerful motors”.
The workshop, hosted by journalist Massimo Degli Esposti, co-founder of the VaiElettrico.it website, will take place at the Tecnopolo in Reggio Emilia and will be broadcast on-line via the R2B platform.
