International Energy Saving Day: the sustainable Flash Battery HQ

We celebrate International Energy Saving Day by reaching our first energy saving goals 2021

Taking small daily actions contributing to sustainability is a starting point towards the creation of an environmentally friendly society. On 18 February each year is International Energy Saving Day, and we want to celebrate it by looking back at the first energy saving goals achieved during 2021.

In the building process of our new company HQ, we have been very careful to comply with the sustainability criteria that characterise our entire corporate vision, which has always been focused on all-round green innovation. Indeed, we are making our plant everyday more efficient and energy autonomous.

During 2021, we officially connected our 150 kW solar park, which annually makes it possible:

🍃 The production of 189 MWh of energy
🍃 70% energy self-sufficiency
🍃 48.3 tonnes of CO2 emissions avoided, corresponding to 2,222 trees planted

But the attention to sustainability also passes through the study of the product: the added value given by the Research and Development department is very important, not only because it allows us to anticipate the needs of our customers by designing lithium batteries and systems at the cutting edge of technology, but also allows us to study solutions that are increasingly careful not to impact negatively on the environment.

The implementation of an environmental management system in our new HQ has also increased awareness on the importance of activities that can contribute to reducing environmental impact, both in terms of production activities and infrastructure. In fact, we have installed a precise monitoring system of all electricity consumption in the building: heating, air conditioning, production consumption, office consumption, electric car charging, etc.

This allows us to keep the consumption of the various functions under constant control and to reduce overall consumption as productivity increases. Finally, all our internal processes have a very low environmental impact; there is no chemical or mechanical processing, only design, assembly and testing.

An objective, though, is only a starting point! Our commitment towards a circular economy continues in 2022!
