Flash Battery among the Sustainable Enterprises recognised by Il Sole 24 Ore

On Wednesday, 25 November 2023, at the Augustinianum Congress Centre in Rome, Flash Battery received the “Sustainable Enterprise Award”, the important recognition sponsored by Il Sole 24 Ore and organised in collaboration with the Vatican and the Patronage of the Pontifical Academy for Life. The award aims to promote the stories of Italian companies that have been able to respond to the unprecedented crises seen over recent years, introducing, from 2020 to today, virtuous processes and innovations, and adopting sustainable and practical actions.

Flash Battery stands out in the “Digital Sustainability” category

The “Sustainable Enterprise Award” recognises and showcases the stories and business choices of Italian companies that have excelled in the area of sustainability, demonstrating adaptability and an ability to find new and innovative solutions.

In particular, the virtuous actions undertaken fall into 4 areas: environmental sustainability, digital sustainability, economic sustainability and social sustainability.

Flash Battery took top spot in the “Digital Sustainability” category, in particular due to the innovation underlying the latest release of our proprietary automatic and real-time battery remote monitoring system, Flash Data Center.

The judging panel was particularly impressed by the expertise and vision of our software department in creating what is today a genuine smart monitoring system. Thanks to the implementation of the most recent artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms, the system allows users to remotely monitor the state of health of their batteries at any time, facilitating self-diagnostics and predictive maintenance, and reducing maintenance costs and related travel to a minimum.

It is precisely this project that helped us join those Italian companies recognised for the development and implementation of IT technologies and innovations, and which, since 2020, have demonstrated a positive impact on the environment, the economy and society in general.

When innovation creates value: the case of Flash Data Center

Since Flash Battery was established in 2012, we have focused on developing increasingly demanding electrification technologies to anticipate market demand and offer lithium batteries tailored to the needs of equipment, with the aim of making the industrial vehicle and machinery market more efficient and more sustainable.

By creating a remote monitoring system that allows the daily monitoring of the exact use of each lithium battery installed and that sends real-time alerts in the case of malfunctions or improper use, we are able to prevent breakdowns, thus avoiding downtime and unnecessary travel.

For over 10 years, we have worked on strengthening our proprietary technology and, in October 2022, we released the latest version of Flash Data Center 4.0, enhanced with new AI algorithms and machine learning techniques to monitor battery behaviour more accurately than ever before. Its main feature is the 24/7 automatic monitoring of real-time operating data, eliminating faults as they arise and enabling self-diagnostics and predictive maintenance, reducing maintenance costs and travel-related emissions to a minimum, and increasing equipment productivity.

Recognising virtuous companies working towards an all-round sustainable business

One of the main objectives of the “Sustainable Enterprise Award” is to give a voice to all those businesses, typically Italian, that have demonstrated the ability to respond to challenges proactively. Specifically, bringing real added value to society and promoting the transition to an increasingly sustainable culture in different areas.

Flash Battery was one of 15 Italian companies recognised and given the title of “Sustainable Enterprise” during the awards ceremony on 25 October 2023 in Rome.

As part of this event, marked by numerous keynote speeches by respected figures from the world of finance, economics, academia and communications in Italy, the main steps and virtuous behaviours that Italian companies, the state and society as a whole need to understand and implement in order to grow sustainably were illustrated.

The importance of investing in sustainability and development projects, in view of the 17 goals established by the UN 2030 Agenda, is becoming increasingly central. The UN has adopted a full programme of action for people, the planet and prosperity, with the aim of achieving, over the next seven years, global sustainable development in three areas: economic, social and environmental.

The “Sustainable Enterprise Award”, which brings together virtuous businesses from across Italy, falls within one of the many necessary steps that our country must take in order for this ambitious goal to become more achievable, towards the implementation of an all-round sustainable business model.
