Flash Battery at KEY Energy 2026: a panel on first-life batteries and the European supply chain | Flash Battery

On 4 March 2026, Flash Battery will be at KEY - The Energy Transition Expo 2026, one of Europe's leading events dedicated to energy transition, electrification and technologies for sustainable industry.

On the Battery Stage, Flash Battery will be joining the "First-life batteries: the batteries we use in Europe" panel with Marco Righi and Alan Pastorelli, respectively CEO and CTO of Flash Battery.

It will be a technical and industrial discussion dedicated to analysing the European battery supply chain, with a practical focus on real applications and the skills developed in Europe beyond cell production.

Taking part in KEY Energy 2026 is a strategic opportunity for Flash Battery to actively contribute to the debate on the evolution of the battery industry and industrial electrification, sharing vision, know-how and solutions developed for high-tech applications.

"First-life batteries: the batteries we use in Europe" panel with Marco Righi and Alan Pastorelli

The panel, to be held on Wednesday, 4 March from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the Battery Stage, is organised by the Fondazione eV-Now! and will be moderated by Daniele Invernizzi and Federica Musto. The focus will be on the contribution of Marco Righi, CEO of Flash Battery, and Alan Pastorelli, CTO, who will bring their direct experience in the development and integration of systems for high-tech industrial applications.

Batteries are a central element of the European energy transition, but their role is often reduced just to cell production. On the contrary, the European supply chain incorporates many fundamental steps, including system assembly, integration into different vehicles and machinery, power and control electronics and a wide range of high-tech industrial applications.

The "First-life batteries: the batteries we use in Europe" panel will delve into the topic, focusing on the main chemistries used in Europe today and how battery systems are designed, assembled and integrated in various application contexts. The differences between cells, modules and battery packs will also be clarified, exploring the implications on design, integration and electronic management system (BMS).

Part of the discussion will be devoted to the expertise developed in Europe and more specialised applications, such as small serial productions, retrofits and custom solutions, including those for the marine sector.

Panel programme:

Battery pack assembly, management systems (BMS) and industrialisation
From system integration to industrial scalability
Marco Righi, CEO of Flash Battery
Alan Pastorelli, CTO of Flash Battery

Overview of chemicals used in Europe and applied research
State of the art and technological developments in Europe
Researcher TBD, Turin Polytechnic

High-tech niche applications
Special solutions and projects with high technical complexity
Andrea Airale, Beond

Battery Weekly Live from the Battery Stage of KEY Energy 2026

During the morning, the Battery Stage will also host a special episode of Battery Weekly Live, which will be broadcast on Wednesday, 4 March from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Flash Battery's LinkedIn, YouTube and Facebook channels.

During the episode, our industrial electrification experts will comment on the key themes of the event and the main trends in the battery industry, with a focus on technological innovation, the European supply chain and industrial electrification. It will be an opportunity anticipate the contents of the panel and expand the discussion with operators, professionals and stakeholders attending KEY Energy 2026.
