Flash Battery’s CIO among the speakers at the Unindustria conference ‘From the lab to the factory: Artificial Intelligence in real industry’
13 June 2024
Tecnopolo Reggio Emilia

Flash Battery’s Chief Information Officer, Antonio Gabriele, will bring to Unindustria’s Digital Club Flash Battery’s experience in developing AI technologies that optimise the life of lithium batteries
Artificial intelligence is today considered the new revolution of mankind, a valuable technology that has the potential to dramatically transform the way we live and work, starting with industry.
There are, in fact, many Italian companies that have been able to exploit the new technologies offered by AI to improve their products and production processes, with a view to greater efficiency. But what, concretely, are the resulting advantages? This is precisely the focus of the meeting organised by Unindustria’s Club Digitale that, on Thursday 13 June, from 4:45 to 7:00 p.m., will bring together industrialists and entrepreneurs interested in understanding the real value of artificial intelligence, through the presentation of several success stories.
Among the speakers at the conference, entitled “From the lab to the factory: artificial intelligence in real industry”, will be the Chief Information Officer of Flash Battery, Antonio Gabriele, who will bring the industrial testimony of Flash Battery, which, since its foundation in 2012, has been investing in research and technological innovation, with the aim of making its lithium batteries ever smarter and more efficient.
The talk by our CIO will focus on the topic of optimising the life of lithium batteries through artificial intelligence. Starting at 17:30, Antonio Gabriele will illustrate to participants the history, evolution and main features of the Flash Data Center of Flash Battery, the cloud system of automatic and real time proprietary remote control, which exploits the latest artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to analyse the data collected from all active Flash Battery systems worldwide and ensure self-diagnostics, predictive battery maintenance and the study of new generation lithium batteries that are increasingly intelligent.
‘The implementation of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies allows us to extract from the batteries an accurate description of their behaviour. Over time, we have collected an enormous amount of operating data, and today we work with over 200 million logs, about 100,000 per day, which allow us to create a sort of digital twin for each of our batteries, useful for conducting tests, perfecting machine performance and predicting battery behaviour in advance, planning their end of life and increasing their productivity.’
In addition to Antonio Gabriele, other authoritative voices from Reggio Emilia’s entrepreneurial scene will be speaking at the event, including Davide Bezzecchi, Head of Research & Innovation at Unindustria Reggio Emilia, Gino Mainardi, Team Advanced Leader Engineering at Cobo Spa, and Alessandro Usseglio Viretta, CEO of Art of AI and consultant to Fondazione REI. The conference will be a real networking opportunity that will serve to give a clear overview of the potential of AI in the industrial world and offer concrete ideas to all those entrepreneurs who are considering the possibility of increasing digital innovation within their own contexts, with a view to continuous improvement of their business.
