Virtual European Conference on Batteries 2020
24-27 November 2020
Virtual Event
The skilful use of electric power will be a key technology for the transition to a world that runs on renewable energy. Today, batteries have become indispensable products for electric vehicles, industrial machinery, consumer goods, and the global electric networks, and their importance is only growing day by day.
In the framework of the German presidency of the European Council, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is organising the European Conference on Batteries, which will take place online from 24 to 27 November 2020. The event will be held entirely in English, and will feature presentations from key European and international players in industry, research, and politics, discussing current developments and future scenarios in the field of batteries – all this in order to create networks and increase international cooperation.
The event is closely linked to the launch of the two IPCEI European Projects on battery value chains. Flash Battery plays a major role in those projects, along with other European entities engaged in joint research and innovation projects and the first industrial production in the field of cutting-edge lithium batteries.
Topics of discussion will be innovation, high-tech solutions, sustainability, and a wide variety of subjects regarding the latest developments in the field of batteries, featuring high-profile speakers: from the Federal Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy, Peter Altmaier, to the 2019 Nobel laureate in Chemistry, Michael Stanley Whittingham, and the founder and CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, just to name a few. The event will also feature numerous forums and round tables for specialists in the field, allowing for in-depth discussion and the exchange of opinions and experiences among European experts in the battery world. An event not to be missed!
