Flash Battery wins the Lapam Confartigianato “Young Entrepreneurs 2023” award

On Monday 31 July 2023, Flash Battery was awarded the “Young Entrepreneurs 2023” prize organised by Lapam Confartigianato, in collaboration with BPER Banca, and dedicated to recognising the experience of female entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 40 who have distinguished themselves for the innovation they have brought to the market in the provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

The entrepreneurial history and technological innovation of Flash Battery were rewarded

It was the entrepreneurial development of Flash Battery , a start-up born in 2012 from the idea of two young friends that evolved into a leading company in Italy for the design and production of lithium batteries for industry with over 100 employees, combined with a constant commitment to social and environmental responsibility in products and processes, that allowed us to achieve this important recognition.

29 participating companies, 3 award-winning companies and 4 special mentions

Lapam’s “Young Entrepreneurs” award, now in its ninth edition, counted 29 companies specialising in various sectors and distributed throughout the Modena and Reggio Emilia area.  What linked all the participating companies was the entrepreneurial spirit and resourcefulness of young entrepreneurs in pursuing innovative ideas that add value to the territory.

At the heart of the project is the importance of showcasing and enhancing the know-how of our territory and our country, through the testimonies of many young people who invest in their own ideas, carrying them forward with courage and determination.

In fact, the awards ceremony was an important opportunity for companies to meet and talk, and above all, an opportunity for young entrepreneurs to tell their stories and experiences.

In addition to the 3 best projects awarded on the podium, 4 companies received a special mention for standing out according to the four criteria defined by Lapam: sustainability, online visibility, innovation and digitalisation, and craftsmanship and made in Italy.

A special prize was also awarded to the company that received the biggest number of online votes from the public.

The Flash Balancing System: the innovative idea at the heart of Flash Battery’s candidature

The proprietary BMS Flash Balancing System was the protagonist of the candidature: the truly innovative idea that allowed the two founding partners Marco Righi (CEO) and Alan Pastorelli (CTO) to gain a prominent place in the emerging lithium battery scene.

It is a combined cell balancing system, which operates at high power both actively during discharge and passively during charging, with a balancing current (20A) that significantly exceeds conventional BMS systems.

This idea sparked the birth and development of Flash Battery, which is capable of bringing value to the entire segment and giving electric cars and industrial vehicles numerous advantages in terms of charging speed, zero maintenance and complete and constant monitoring of the battery health.

The award jury also decided to recognise Flash Battery’s commitment to promoting the green economy and energy transition by encouraging the electrification of vehicles with Flash Battery lithium batteries.
