E_Mob 2021: development opportunities for the second life of batteries, Marco Righi among the speakers

On the opening day of the national conference on electric mobility in Milan the attention will be focused on the potential new applications of batteries at the end of their life cycle.

From October 16 to 19 E_Mob 2021 returns to Milan; since 2016 the Festival of Electric Mobility calls together public and private actors with the aim of opening a debate on the present and future of electric mobility in Italy. Four days of events, exhibitions and conferences to spread the culture of an increasingly sustainable, green and circular environmental system, starting from mobility.

Our CEO Marco Righi will be in the panel of speakers of the opening pre-conference “Innovative strategies for the second life of automotive batteries: perspectives and opportunities for industrial and employment development”, to be held on Thursday, October 14 at the Auditorium Testori of Palazzo Lombardia, from 9:30 to 12:30, where will be presented a strategic agreement (MOU) for the creation of a real supply chain of the second life of batteries.

Lithium batteries are now an essential component of all electric vehicles and are universally recognized as the technology for excellence in the transition to electrification. Despite their long life on vehicles, when they lose 20% of autonomy they need to be replaced, but they still have enough energy to be used in other applications that do not require full capacity, such as energy storage.

But how to make this process more efficient?

Marco Righi’s speech entitled: “The role of the Battery Management System for the second life: challenges and opportunities”, will aim to offer Flash Battery’s vision on how to enable an efficient use and redestination of lithium batteries, for a circular and sustainable value chain.
