What is the role of the BMS in a battery? Flash Battery HQ becomes the stage for a special lecture dedicated to the students of the ‘Hybrid and Electric Vehicle’ course at the Politecnico di Milano

On 28 November 2023 Flash Battery’s Founder and & CEO, Marco Righi, met at our HQ in Sant’Ilario d’Enza the students of “Hybrid and Electric Vehicle “, the course held by Professor Davide Tarsitano at the School of Industrial and Information Engineering of the Politecnico di Milano.

The focus of the meeting was Flash Battery‘s proprietary electronics and the growth path that has seen our company, founded as a start-up in 2012, evolve over the course of a decade to become a reference point in Europe for the production of lithium batteries for the industrial sector.

Thanks to an in-depth analysis of all the chemical, technical and technological characteristics that make up Flash Battery lithium batteries, the students were able to gain a complete overview of all the stages involved in the development of a customised battery pack.

The testimony also helped to foster in students a deeper and more concrete understanding of the sector, allowing them to see the actual implementation of concepts and notions only discussed at an academic level.

In particular, the architecture, operation and evolution of the Flash Balancing System was examined (link blog), Flash Battery’s proprietary balancing system, the true guardian of lithium battery performance and safety over time.

The presentation shed light on the distinctive features of our combined active and passive high-power balancing system, which have earned it an Italian patent for industrial innovation.

Finally, the subsequent visit to the offices and production site allowed the students to observe first-hand the entire process behind the production of a Flash Battery pack, tailor-made for the needs of machines and industrial vehicles, from the prototype phase to shipment to the end customer.

The synergy between academic theory and practical application emerged tangibly, highlighting the fascinating and stimulating nature of a sector that is always in need of new skilled, trained and passionate people to evolve and meet future challenges.
