The project was ambitious: turn a concrete mixer that normally runs on diesel fuel into a hybrid concrete mixer.
This is why Cifa, an expert in building mixers, truck mounted pumps and concrete mixing systems, asked Kaitek for its support and the lithium Flash Battery technology.
Energya is the name of the project that has now become a line with models E8 and E9 based on an innovative system that combines the benefits of traditional technology with those of electric technology.
In Energya mixers, the movement of the drum is driven by an electric motor that receives energy from a lithium Flash Battery battery.
In order to respond to the stresses to which the equipment is subjected with top performance, the Flash Battery battery was designed to ensure several basic characteristics:
- quick recharging while loading the concrete with a special fast charger
- up to 90 kW of power supplied while using the mixer
- high resistance to climatic factors
- high resistance to the mechanical stress to which this machine is subjected
Thanks to the efficiency of the Flash Battery battery, the hybrid mixer can run with the internal combustion engine off so it can be used in old town centres, tunnels or buildings. In this way loading and unloading the concrete is silent and exhaust gas emission-free.
